Saddle
there is a great variety of saddles, each one related to the type of rides which will be made, the tame of the horse, the available materials and the culture of the place of origin. The simplest saddles, called "packsaddles" or "rigs", consist in a simple leather cushion or sailcloth filled with foam material and subjected with various girths, which helps to relax the friction of the rider’s weight or of the load on the animal’s back. Back problems on horses

Unfortunately the problems of the back of our horses are very common nowadays, additionally to the laminitis, which is quite common, too, and which causes also problems of their back.

Obviously these problems are caused through us, the riders, who do not sit in the right way or the best position, or we do not know how to use well the reins and in many occasions we take them too short. Doing this we do not allow our horse to lift its back or we force a “wrong meeting” which leads to a promontory in the neck, hollow backs or simple pains in different zones of the back and neck. Wrong:

Is it possible to take care of a horse at home?

Can we take care of a horse at home perfectly? It is true that a horse needs a lot more attention than any other small animal like a dog or chicken. But if we possess a proper enclosure for it and we assume some patterns and cares, it could be possible to keep a horse in our house.

You have to count on a sufficiently big and spacious area for the horse so it can live properly. We have to preview a stable with minimum space of 4x4 m and a height of 3,60 m and at least 1 vision window to provide good ventilation. The stable has to provide the animal a sufficient space to mover without the risk to suffer any harm on its body together with a good spruce always filled with fresh water and a feeder. Cleaning the horse’s litter is fundamental, so it can feel comfortable and clean in its area. We can use materials like oat or hay which last about 10 days, or also sawdust which lasts 25 to 30 days and absorbs better.

We can wash our horse each week to remove rests of dust and dirt which gives it a brilliant coat and vitality. It has to be brushed each day which at the same time provides a relaxing massage to the horse and helps to calm it.
